Dad's Hospital Bag Checklist

Mom isn't the only one who has to prepare for the big birth-day! Here's what is helpful for Dad to pack and take to the hospital to make the day smooth and special.
- Pack your own snacks and drinks. Labor can be long, and you'll need quick fuel to stay alert and helpful.
- Everyday Toiletries. A toothbrush, deodorant, and face wash are essentials that you should make sure you bring along.
- Bring a phone charger with an extra long cord. Hospital outlets are usually far from the bed, so a long cord is a must!
- Entertainment. Bring something to pass the time during early labor or long waiting periods, like a computer with shows, a tablet, book, and headphones.
- ID and insurance card. You might be asked for documentation at check-in or discharge so keep these (and other important documents) handy.
- A camera or phone with good storage. This is a non-negotiable, to make sure that you're ready to capture those first precious moments!
- A change of clothes. You never know how long the hospital stay is going to be. Pack cozy clothes for sleeping and fresh ones for heading home.
- Your own pillow and blankets. Hospital-issued bedding is never as comfortable as your own, so pro tip is...bring them yourself!
- Rehydration packet. Staying hydrated and energized helps you be present and supportive at all times.
Is there anything else you would add to the list?
